An Ass? An Elephant? What’s the difference, both belong outside? Monday, Jul 4 2011

It seems as if I am compelled to say the following:
Both political parties are unworthy of their perpetual existence.

At the very least, an ass transported the Christian God into Jerusalem.

I have found that, unfortunately, a two party system is not a system able to fulfill the needs of the people. Moreover, a system that does not provide an excellent education to all that are willing and able, is not a system that does not fulfill the needs of the people.

People are speaking of anarchy now-a-days. Why wouldn’t they. People are losing hope in the political puppets that they elect in order to replace the previous terms’ puppets.

Of all people, Catholics, should not identify themselves with a political party, if they are also going to identify themselves as Catholics. We shall continue on this and more later.

Universals versus Particulars… Psychology and value Sunday, Jul 3 2011

Aristotle writes in the Physics, BK I:

we even see men of experience succeeding more than those who have theory without experience…the reason for this is that experience is knowledge of individuals, and art of universals, [thus] actions and productions are all concerned with the individual’ for the physician does not cure a man, except in an incidental way [for] if a man has theory without experience, and knows the universal but doesn’t not know the individual included in this, he will often fail to cure; for it is the individual that is to be cured.

Today, we are faced with the problem of sciences, especially Psychology, wanting to dive deeper into the realm of universals. Has the attention been given to the universals while taking value away from the individual. It does seem, at times, that we see doctors, scientists and thinkers, give an incredible amount of time, studying ‘John’ in order to better understand everyone else.

The problem we are faced with here, is that we are not treating, learning about and caring for John for the sake of mankind. Yet we ought to be treating, learning about and caring for John for the sake of John. Moreover, our desire for knowledge should come from the opposite part of the ladder. In love, which is the only topic, idea, action, emotion, state that one should strive to live in, or act upon, we will do what it takes, to better understand universals, in order to better serve our fellow particular.

My heart-felt thoughts on the upcoming elections Wednesday, Jun 29 2011

We vote in politicians that cannot provide for us…
We get upset…
We do it again…

A revolution into Anarchy?

Else, change the system and hold people accountable.

It is more complicated than what one single blog post can shed light on. Volumes have been written on the subject. People complain and say that Democracy is our only choice, why? Because you say that nothing else works. John Dewey wrote the same criticism on Democracy as Plato did, the only [real(?)] one… a Democracy is threatened when it its people are provided with a two-tiered education system: One for the rich and one for the poor.

While society remains uneducated, don’t get your hopes up insofar as having a strong Democracy… and while you participate in being part of the uneducated masses, realize this: we don’t live in a Democracy.

Redistribution of Wealth Tuesday, Jun 28 2011

Socialism…?

All that believed were together, and had all things in common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
(Acts 2:44-45)

This beauty of Socialism, as one would expect is an ideal…

There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold. They laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. There was a Levite, a native of Cyprus, Joseph, to whom the apostles gave the name Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”). He sold a field that belonged to him, then brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
(Acts 4:34-37)

Ideals, are typically tabooed because of the corruption of Human Nature…

Care for the needy requires the expenditure of wealth: when all share alike, disbursing their possessions among themselves, they each receive a small portion for their individual needs. Thus, those who love their neighbor as themselves possess nothing more than their neighbor; yet surely, you seem to have great possessions!….For the more you abound in wealth, the more you lack in love. -St Basil the Great

It seems as if the solution is this: to love.
